The first fraction unit of this school year will cover equivalent fractions, simplifying, common denominators, comparing/ordering fractions, and converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions. This section will begin Monday, November 19th and last until Friday, December 14th. This is the foundation for the units following winter break, which will include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions and mixed numbers.
The students can use the IXL website for many of these skills. They must sign in first! Once they sign in, they can go to anything in Section K. We will be working in Sections L, M, N, and O beginning in January and through February.
