The two classes worked together today to track the position of the sun throughout the day. The first class went out at 10:00 and tracked their shadow with a partner. The other class went out at 1:30 to track it again. We observed the changes that occurred from 10am until 1:35pm. We attempted a final shadow outline at 2:40, but the clouds did not cooperate.
In the picture on the left below, you can see the original shadow created by Avery & Kaitlynn at about 10am. In the picture on the right, Elliott is tracing Owen in the exact same spot at about 1:35pm. In 3 1/2 hours, the shadow has moved about 90 degrees.
